Taw
Taw
Rain, flood risk and heat where you live, with an alert when it matters.
taw.zaleo.dev

What it does
For Dakar, your home village or a West African city: hour-by-hour and 7-day weather, a flood risk level (low, moderate, high) with its reasons, heat and ANACIM's warnings. Taw emails you when a threshold is crossed; phone notifications are optional.
Who it's for
People living in neighbourhoods that have flooded before, like Keur Massar or Pikine, those with family in the village, and anyone working outdoors in the heat.
Three things to know
- A risk level with its reasons
- Rain on the way, ground already wet, a rising river, low-lying land: each factor is shown, and the method is published.
- Alerts without the noise
- Heavy rain, flooding, dangerous heat: at most one email per place per day, with quiet hours.
- The season in context
- Rain since 1 May against the 1991–2020 normal, air quality, and a map of where water has been seen before.

Your data
The weather needs no account. For email alerts, a Zaleo account keeps your places, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Phone notifications only send the server a rounded position for your places.
What it doesn't do
Taw is not an official warning service: ANACIM and the authorities are the reference. Forecasts come from models and can miss a local storm. No rain radar: no public radar covers Senegal.
